Becoming a Krav Maga Instructor
Becoming a Self Defense instructor is a journey of mutual growth. When you help others develop their skills, face their fears, and build confidence, you inevitably elevate yourself as well. Every student you guide challenges you to become a better leader, a more thoughtful teacher, and a stronger practitioner. As you witness their progress, you sharpen your own understanding, constantly refining how you communicate and adapt to different needs. By helping others rise, you deepen your own abilities, discovering new layers of strength and resilience within yourself.
As an instructor, the transformation of your students becomes a reflection of your own growth. When you empower them to overcome obstacles, you simultaneously break through your own limitations. The success and confidence they achieve are a testament to your leadership, pushing you to evolve both personally and professionally. APPLICANT PREREQUISITES
KME Chief Instructor approval required
Must be 18 years or older
Must be physically fit
No criminal record
Minimum 500 hours of Krav Maga or Martial Arts – OR – 3 Years Minimum of full-contact sports (Boxing, Muay-Thai, Kick-Boxing, Karate)
Law enforcement or military personnel welcomed
Course Curriculum
The first objective of the course is to teach effective methods that can be applied to any subject you teach.
But becoming an instructor isn’t just about teaching a class. It requires building leadership skills so you can motivate students of all levels to become their best selves.
The most important aspect of teaching is communication skills: communicate techniques and concepts, ensuring that students understand both the physical and mental aspects of what you teach!
You will also learn:
- The history of Krav Maga and its evolution
- Krav Maga techniques from P1 to P5 and how to teach them in class safely and effectively
- Advanced communication and instructional skills
- Lesson development and different class structures
- Different teaching methods to target groups
(women, co-ed, youth and dealing with trauma) - Safety protocols
Each participant will be awarded a Certificate of Completion for the Civilian Instructors Course Program upon satisfactorily completing the course.
